Estate Planning

Make Sure Your Estate Is There When You Need It and Passed on According to Your Wishes

As you get older, it is important to ensure you are cared for in a way that is compassionate and maintains your dignity. Planning for this now will ensure someone you love and trust will be making important decisions on your behalf, and also that the assets in your estate that you have worked hard for will be distributed according to your wishes. Our estate planning services are conducted on a flat fee basis so you can get the care you need without breaking your budget.

Asset Preservation

When someone passes away, there are a lot of things that need to happen to the estate before it is all distributed. Sadly, many of these things can pull a significant amount of the assets out of the estate before everything is settled. Our team will work with you on a fixed-fee basis to help minimize taxes, court costs, and any other expenses that can shrink your estate before it is passed on to your loved ones.

Guardianship

If you have a loved one whose cognitive ability has declined to the point where they are unable to communicate their wishes rationally, it is necessary to appoint a guardian. Guardians are legally obligated to make decisions with the best interest of their ward and can help in many situations. If this is needed for your loved one, we’ll help get it set up right away. We can also work with you to ensure a Durable Power of Attorney and a Health Care Power of Attorney are in place so if you become unable to make decisions on your own, a guardian won’t be necessary. You’ll already have chosen those you want to make decisions on your behalf.

Estate & Trust Administration

Our firm will be there to help settle your estate after you are gone. This will ensure your loved ones, and anyone else you choose, receives exactly what you intended as quickly as possible. We’ll also help your loved ones through any probate that is necessary, and take any other steps that are needed. If you have a loved one who has recently passed away, we can also represent you through probate and any disputes that may arise.

Wills & Trusts

Every estate plan will have a Will, and just about all of them will include one or more Trusts. These are some of the most common items used to protect assets now and ensure they are distributed according to your wishes when necessary. Our team will work with you to determine what types of these tools are right in your specific situation and get them prepared for you.

There for You Every Step of the Way

Estate planning is an important task, but it isn’t one that can be completed and then ignored.
